Assists make learning easier. A parent should turn these ON in MSFS before the first flight.

Recommended Assists

Takeoff Assist

ON ✓

Options → Assistance → Takeoff

Helps you take off smoothly. Good for learning!

Reduces sudden pitch-up and helps keep you on the runway.

Recommend: ON

Landing Assist

ON ✓

Options → Assistance → Landing

Helps you land softer. Turn on while learning.

Guides flare timing and reduces hard landings.

Recommend: ON

Autorudder / Rudder Assist

ON ✓

Options → Assistance → Autorudder

Helps the plane go straight on takeoff and in turns.

Beginners don't need perfect rudder pedals right away.

Recommend: ON

Anti-Stall Protection

ON ✓

Options → Assistance → Anti-Stall

Stops the plane from stalling if you pull up too much.

Safety net while learning pitch control.

Recommend: ON

Bank Limit / Banking Assist

ON ✓

Options → Assistance → Banking

Stops you from tipping the wings too far in turns.

Keeps turns gentle and safe for beginners.

Auto-Trim

Helps the plane fly straight without you holding the stick hard.

Less arm fatigue during straight and level flight.

Taxi Ribbon

Shows a colored path on the ground so you know where to taxi!

The #1 help for ground steering — follow the ribbon.

Realistic Flight Model

Set in MSFS

Options → Assistance → Flight Model

Keep this OFF or on 'Assisted' while learning.

Realistic mode is harder. Assisted is friendlier for kids.

Accessibility Options

Text-to-Speech / Narrator

ON ✓

Options → Accessibility → Narrator

MSFS can read some messages out loud.

Helpful if reading on screen is hard during flight.

High Contrast UI

Optional

Options → Accessibility → High Contrast

Makes menus easier to see with bigger contrast.

Good on bright tablets or second monitors.

Colorblind Assist

Optional

Options → Accessibility → Colorblind

Changes colors on maps and ribbons so they're easier to tell apart.

Taxi ribbon and map colors become clearer.

Subtitle / Message Size

Makes MSFS on-screen messages bigger.

Easier to read tips while flying.

Reduce Camera Motion

Less shaky camera movement.

Smoother view feels calmer and less dizzy.

Controller Vibration Off

Turn off rumble on the joystick if it feels distracting.

Some kids focus better without vibration.

Simplified HUD / Minimal Gauges

Shows fewer gauges on screen.

Less clutter — but you still need speed and altitude.
